Tech Tip - Double Zero Cylinders
Got a set of double zero cylinders? Do you notice that they are no different to any other cylinders out there with other scattered numbers? That's beace they arent. This is a quality control batch identification. Rather than matching every piston to every cylinder sleeve, manufacturers use a sizing range. The piston is measured and is matched to a cylinder based on it's size. The number on the cylinder just references a size range. So, if someone is asking a fortune for that cylinder beacuse it's double zero (and still on stock bore), you could argue that a double eight cylinder is wortht the same money. Basically, it's a myth.
